Script to Screen (GROUNDHOG DAY) Statement

Statement

Personally, I wasn't scheduled to work with sound on our Groundhog Day project. And I'll be honest, I was surprised by the amount of care and detail we need to take for the job to be done well.
And very interestingly, cinema is a moving image, but it is also sound: dialogues, soundtrack and various noises form a significant part of the cinematic narrative.
It is from this union that cinema reaches a point of impact and fascination.
Through sound, the film gains complexity and emotion.
You can't make a great film without good sound work
Sound offers creative possibilities for filmmakers.
I realized that I like working on sound beyond the dialogue, the soundtrack. If I were to work with sound, I would like to work on extra-field sound, what is outside the image. Something you can hear and adds to the atmosphere of the image.

In cinema, sound is also silence, expectation and feeling. Sound is important because it gives the viewer a feeling, preparing them for the scene.

I had a great experience with everyone on the day of recording, it was my first time working with sound. I was a little confused at first, but then with the help of the team, everything worked out!
